Terms of Service
These Terms govern the consulting engagement between the client and Jay the Advocate. By accepting the agreement checkbox on the payment page and completing payment, the client enters into a binding agreement on the terms below.
Service Description
Jay the Advocate provides personal car buying and leasing consulting. The service includes dealer research, dealer outreach, negotiation of price and deal terms, and guidance through vehicle signing or delivery. All services are performed personally by Jason, trading as Jay the Advocate.
Non-Refundable Deposit
The $300 deposit is non-refundable once consulting work begins. Work begins within twenty-four (24) hours of successful payment — at which point dealer outreach, market research, and negotiation are already underway on the client's behalf. Clients may request a full refund within 2 hours of payment, provided no dealer outreach has begun. After this window, or once outreach has commenced — whichever comes first — the deposit is non-refundable. Because the service is rendered primarily through time, expertise, and industry relationships, the deposit cannot be returned after this 24-hour point, regardless of whether the client ultimately takes delivery of a vehicle. The client acknowledges that by submitting payment they have read and accepted these terms in full.
Balance Due at Signing or Delivery
The remaining $300 balance is due at vehicle signing or delivery, regardless of the final outcome. If the client declines a deal that Jay the Advocate has secured within the agreed parameters, the balance is immediately due and payable as compensation for work already performed. The client agrees that the $300 balance is due and payable at or before vehicle signing or delivery. By accepting these terms, the client authorizes Jay the Advocate to collect the balance via any payment method on file, or to invoice the client directly. Failure to remit payment within 48 hours of delivery constitutes a breach of this agreement.
No Savings Guarantee
Jay the Advocate provides professional consulting, not a guaranteed financial outcome. Final deal terms depend on current market conditions, vehicle availability, individual dealer flexibility, manufacturer incentives in effect, and the client's own flexibility on specifications, timing, and location. While most clients realize meaningful savings, no specific dollar amount or percentage of savings is promised, implied, or guaranteed.
Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to provide accurate and complete information regarding budget, vehicle preferences, credit situation, trade-in details (if applicable), and timeline. The effectiveness of consulting is directly tied to the accuracy of this information. Outcomes affected by incomplete, inaccurate, or misrepresented information provided by the client are the sole responsibility of the client and do not alter any obligation of payment under these terms.
If the Client Walks Away
If Jay the Advocate secures a deal matching the parameters agreed to in consultation and the client declines to move forward, the deposit is forfeited and the remaining balance remains due. The consulting service was rendered; a client's change of mind does not retroactively unwind the work performed.
Chargeback Policy
By accepting these terms and completing payment, the client expressly agrees not to initiate a chargeback, payment dispute, or reversal against Jay the Advocate for consulting services rendered. This agreement — together with the timestamped acceptance of these terms, the payment record, and any written communication records — constitutes the client's informed consent to the service and its fee structure. Any chargeback filed in violation of this clause will be contested with this documentation, and the client may be held liable for associated dispute, legal, and administrative costs.
Independent Consultant
Jay the Advocate is an independent consulting service. Jason is not a licensed automobile dealer, automobile broker, or financing agent. Jay the Advocate accepts no compensation, kickbacks, referral fees, or finance-rate spread from any dealership, manufacturer, or lending source. The flat consulting fee paid by the client is the sole compensation received for any engagement.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by, and shall be construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to this engagement shall be resolved exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located within the State of New York.
